Airplane maneuver?

Q: Who invented the airplane?

A: Alberto Santos-Dumont

Though the answer might not win you in “Who wants to be a millionare?”, it surely is a controversial topic of the day (or is it the year, so to say?). From the Reuters report, it is evident that anyone in Brazil will consider the answer correct.

Apparently the Wright brothers did not fulfill the prerequisites needed to prove that they were the first to fly, and it seems that the Wright brothers were secretive and only later did they prove that they had beaten Santos-Dumont three years ago.

Anyways, let us praise whoever invented it. And whoever it is, would never have thought that they will check so much before allowing people to get into it, as they do these days.

Will India utilize the opportunity?

The recent McKinsey report titled India - From emerging to surging, makes one point clear. India, if it seizes the opportunity now, can make every citizen doubly rich in a decade. It also claims that India can have a record 10% growth and make the GDP $1.1 trillion if the reforms are undertaken.

That growth would be no joke, by the way. But will that happen? I hope it does.
