The Best Directors
These are some of the best directors in the movie world, in my opinion.
Satyajit Ray - The legendary Indian director, who took Indian cinema to the world. I think the main aspects of his movies are sensitivity and simplicity.
Akira Kurosawa - The man who tried everything in movies and succeeded. Probably the most influential director of the century. The variety and the depth of his movies are something that no other director has achieved.
Steven Spielberg - If you want to pick a director who can handle any subject with ease, its Spielberg. Who can imagine that a person can handle a range of subjects from that of Schindler’s List to Terminal to Duel!
Adoor Gopalakrishnan - The living legend, who slowly and steadily is scoring big in the International arena with every creation. So realistic his movies are, that you get absorbed into them, each one of them.
Mani Rathnam - A contemporary director who is serious about his subjects. I think he will come up to the International level soon, as he drops the minor commercial elements from his creations.
